Why October
October is green season in Guanacaste — the hills around Playa Ocotal are at their most lush, the beaches are quiet, and sunsets over the Gulf of Papagayo are hard to beat. Mornings are typically bright; afternoon showers are part of the rhythm and the perfect excuse to stay in by the pool with the bar open. Mar-a-Selva is about 40 minutes from Liberia Airport (LIR), which makes a short, last-minute trip easy.
